This, is my arm. A little hairy with scars. But it’s my arm.

I mixed Gelatine with 2 tablespoons of water and slapped it onto my arm quick, because it sets EXTREMELY fast. It does stink as well. I name it “Wet dog smell”. I tried to make it as rough as possible because burns aren’t perfect!

I then dabbed some red face paint over the set Gelatine. This is just a base layer to add some depth to the final finish.

Then dab some Black face paint over the red. Make this rough as well and apply all over the area because it’s a burn and the skin will be blackened and crisp. The Gelatine has made it appear as though my skin is flaking off. This is only a rough version which I rushed but If I could, I’d apply a load more Gelatine all over my arm and make it slightly thinner.
Don’t forget in between your fingers and even the palms of your hands. Also using black nail varnish on your nails makes them look dead and burnt.
Time for fake blood! I love this part because it really finishes it off. You can still see the yellow colour of the Gelatine, but just add more paint or leave it to represent the colour of your skin before it was burnt.

From a better angle. The skin looks really burnt and crispy. To the plain areas that are not covered in Gelatine, you can add liquid latex/ fake skin. Leave to dry then peel of. This makes the skin look as though it has still suffered from the heat, just not as much as the actual burn. Add some fake blood under the flaps that you peeled off to make it look more realistic.

Nice and crisp.
Enjoy and learn it in time for Halloween, because it freaks people out!
